Which photos to upload to your Google profile to attract more customers

Photos are the first thing an undecided customer checks before choosing between your business and the one on the corner. A profile with real, current photos turns visits into customers; one with no photos, or with old ones, loses the decision before it starts.

The minimum to start with

Google recommends at least ten photos to begin: cover photo, logo, exterior, interior, the team at work and your main products or services. Fewer than that leaves your listing looking visually empty next to the competition.

Which photos to prioritise

• Exterior of the premises, so the customer recognises it on arrival.
• Interior, showing the real space, not a stock photo.
• Products or services in use, not just the static catalogue.
• The team at work, which puts a human face on the business.
• A strong cover photo: it is the first thing seen in the search result.

Quality over quantity

Well-lit, in-focus photos without heavy filters communicate more professionalism than twenty blurry ones. Avoid overlaid text: the image is cropped differently depending on the device and the text can end up cut off.

How often to update them

Uploading new photos every month, even just a few, is an activity signal Google values as much as a post. You do not need a professional shoot every time: one recent, well-taken phone photo works.

What to avoid

Generic stock photos, images with another business's watermark, or photos that no longer show how your premises look today. All of that lowers trust the moment the customer compares the photo with reality.
